Best Lounge Act
July 28th, 2011
Led by singer/guitarist Jerry Lopez, Santa Fe and the Fat City Horns has been around town for more than 30 years, incorporating funk, rock, R&B, pop and jazz into their routine. The group—featuring five singers, six horns and a six-piece rhythm section—is comprised of veteran musicians with regular gigs at some of the Strip’s top production shows. Fueled by a shared love of horn-driven bands such as Chicago, Tower of Power and Earth, Wind & Fire, Santa Fe’s “healing sessions” on Monday nights in the Palms Lounge are filled with great songs, sharp arrangements, strong vocals and tight musicianship.
In the Palms, 10:30 p.m. Mondays, $7, 944-3200.
